Oh wow, I just threw away my copy of the Qur'an.

    (not "Koran", BTW: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qur'an)

Decided against reading it, but sounded even weirder than the Bible.

          "extremists are pure opportunists."
I am not a devout muslim, But by birth I am muslim. I have never read the entire qur'an, nor do I really plan on making it a mission to read the whole thing. My relatives however do live in cairo egypt and are followers of the islamic faith. I really don't know more than that of what I have personally encountered, And I like to be naive to political happenings.
Burning of the qur'an is pretty disrespectful, But how many bibles have been burned over the years? Extremists are everywhere, and they ruin what was originally meant to be good for all. It sucks that everyone gets all hyped up about all this stuff. The topic of perspective is something I have been really interested in lately, and it is really something that i believe a lot of protesters are blind to. If you can see things from more angles then just the few you know of, situations become a lot different, and often even more difficult to understand than they were before. I personally do not think that two blocks away should be as big a deal as it is being made out to be. I do however see how people can be upset about it because it was such a tragic event. And yes keeping an eye on the enemy is key, but islamic people are not enemies, It is islamic extremists.

I have yet to meet an "extremist" who had issues with me, but I have known a few who prayed 3X or more daily... and I thought them a bit weird, plus LOTS of "Holier than Thou" attitude.

Eh, I dunno. I think religion has a good place in many peoples lives, but certainly not mine.

              truth.

I get what you are saying about the holier than thou attitude, but that is experienced with all religious book banging people. I once had someone tell me I was going to hell because I wasn't christian (waaaaay back before the whole terror ordeal)

Holy text thumpers of all flavors are annoying and like that.

I am with you luke faith plays a huge part in most peoples lives, and on the whole its a good thing. Its the crazies that give it all a bad name, no matter you affiliation or lack there of, every group has its issues.

religion is just a big cult. You have the people who are "religious" and open about it but don't push it on you every second you're talking to them that are alright. then you got the outspoken fanatics that cant talk about anything other than their god that annoy the hell out of everyone. And that goes for all religions. I have no problem at all with religious people. They are some of the nicest i have ever met. But then they are some of the craziest to in some cases

No, not you - I meant the "pastor" and his congregation. Sorry, I should have been more clear.
