I think Ben Franklin said it best.

"Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither."

This has absoloutely nothing to do with keeping you safe from bearded men in caves. This is about making you a complacent slave, and making millions for the Chertoff Group. If you'll submit to yourself, your wife and your kids being fondled by a complete stranger, you'll submit to anything.

This isn't the kind of "freedom" that our veterans have fought and died for.

In the case of the so-called undi-bomber, calls by the father stating his son was a threat and planned to blow up a plane went unheeded.

So, why do we have to go through this?

The weapons used by the perpetrators of 9/11 were planted on the plane beforehand, but secure area passcodes were not changed after 9/11? No further screening for secure area employees, but we grope nuns and children? Ridiculous.

Wanna be safe on a plane? Be aware of your surroundings. Observe others, and do not hesitate to act if convinced something is about to happen.

That sure as hell doesn't cost billions of dollars.

I'm glad the pilot exception is going through.

If that guy with the bomb in his underwear had been a little more competent with the detonator and actually blown that plane up, I think people would be singing a different song.

Yea... Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, who was led past security by a "well dressed Indian man" with no passport and was already being watched by US intelligence agencies...

The purpose of this is to make the "opt out" from the x-ray full-body scanners so embarrassing and intrusive that everyone would rather go through the scanners if they get selected for additional screening.

The Chertoff Group is making millions off these machines, the terrorist paranoia is being reaffirmed, and you're further trained to be an obedient slave that will do whatever you're told for the purpose of keeping you safe. All the while, people are mindlessly exposing themselves to unshielded radiation when going through these scanners.

If you're actually concernted about terrorism on airplanes, watch this.

Now, I'm sure there will be several "conspiracy theorist" "tin foil hat" blah blah blah blah blah blah responses, but I really don't care. Hard evidence trumps your personal opinion.

This entire subject is something I've studied relentlessly, and it frustrates me to the core. I could write an entire book on the fabricated terrorist threat and how it has been used to geopolitically reform societies. In the end it comes to fear based control, and it's been used repeatedly and extensively throughout human history. It's really quite simple if you do the research and come to understand it.

By the way... these scanners aren't just being installed in privately dictated airports, they're being used in courthouses, schools, and in mobile vans around the country.

Does that make you feel safer? I hope so, because even if you believe the "offical" story you're more likely to be killed in a lightning strike than a "terrorist" attack.

X-ray vans, what the fuck. That's like something out of 1984 or V (for Vendetta).

You have a medical condition? That's not relevant to security.

I dont really have a choice working out in PA and flew out here (lack of enough time to drive out) and I will be LUCKY to get more than 10 days off for the holidays. I really dont feel like takeing 8 days of it on the road (if I could drive it) or 7 days by bus and 6 days by train. An only having about 4 days or less actually at home.

I will put up with the BS to only have 2 travel days. I have not been home since the end of August.

It only takes me 19 hours total to get from VT to WI with a co-driver in the e30. I'll drive.
Should 'only' take a full day each way to get from MT to PA.

The only other Really viable option is to fly in and out of airports that don't yet have the scanners.

This really makes me want to get a pilots license (instrument rated, ofc), and AMG and AMP, and fly my own damn self. I have a friend with an 8 seater 421C (1600 mile range, 250mph).

It'd be a fuck-ton of work, but at least that way I don't have to get molested to get from point A to point B.

Anyone want to lobby to get the speed limit raised to 100mph (outside of metro areas, obviously)? then I could get from WI to VT in around 10 hours. So what if I burn twice the fuel getting there? America needs it's own autobahn style system.
