Probably the only beef I have with it is requiring the state of "residency" to allow in-state tuition. They should have to prove that they or their parents have paid state taxes. That is the point of the in-state tuition, to provide a break to the people who have been supporting the college/university through tax revenue.

Other than that the military service sounds like a great idea. Apparently Americans are getting too fat to even be infantry so having someone else fight our wars seems like a logical solution.
    Im now E30less.

I have a fundamental problem with it...."you break the law, we've got your families back".

Might as well go down and start shuttling illegals into this country. Nothing says come and get it like a hand out.

it has been my experience that the American workforce pretty much sucks and does not want to work.

Maybe you can try paying more than $6.00 an hour. Usually this stems from cheap fuckers not willing to pay what someone is worth BECAUSE they can call up the local illegal to do it for a fraction of the price. And because that illegal is being paid $6.00 an hour (in his eyes it's more like $50.00 an hour) he thinks it's easy money.

Up here Craigslist items for shit money are being eaten up like crazy.
But non the less many companies over charge just to step into your house, but then that's our broken system at work. That contractor has to cover his ass. Between sue happy Americans insurance and bureaucrats it's nearly impossible to start your own company these days.

More focus on illegals when the American work force is hurting so badly...go figure.

Maybe the American workforce should figure out a way to fix itself instead of relying on Obama to do everything for them.

              TOTALLY AGREE.

At the same token, I went from making close to $20.00 an hour to making $14.00 an hour and finally down to $10.00 an hour and 2-3 jobs at a time, depending. Just to get the jobs.

Right before I couldn't afford to pay taxes on my business and, you know, eat, I was underbidding jobs just to get them and would consistently see illegals doing the jobs I should have gotten. I'm not unhappy that they got the work because "they are illegals", I'm more unhappy that they didn't even earn a fair wage in doing such. I know they didn't because I was already barely paying myself to get the jobs.

All for amnesty in all honesty. With a 10%-20% tax "penalty" for illegal immigrants gaining said amnesty for a set period of time. Beats deportation, jail and having to live in fear. Not only that, they can make a livable wage and be treated like human beings instead of "the cheap work" force or "labor".

If someone can live here for a period of time and satisfy all of these requirements then I will gladly welcome them as US citizens. They are already better than a large percentage of so-called "citizens" who drop out of school, cant hold down a job, spend food stamps on candy, and are a general drain on society.
exactly that's why they have these tougher requirements, such waiting for ten years with out any benefit of the goverment and anther 3 more years for citizenship.

Yep. When those current under-bidders start having to pay for liability insurance, worker's comp premiums, unemployment taxes, and the other shitload of requirements legitimate businesses have to deal with, those prices will suddenly rise.

What we have now is basically a slave underclass. We can't actually call them that, but we can't "own" them either, so they just scrape by, getting whatever work they can while still flying under the radar.

The main problem with the illegal vs handyman argument is that you are hiring a business or an individual. Illegal vs guy down the street are two very different things. Your neighbor might charge you a little more, but then you are helping out the neighborhood instead of the illegal.

I'm usually the guy down the street.

That's a totally valid point. The problem with that idea is the system is already broken. It doesn't matter who's in the White House at this point.

For the record I do feel for the children of illegals (the ones that have grown up here) but rewarding them I'm against.

I'd like to see the Republicans actually DO a filibuster and go through with it, not just threaten it and the Democrats hide like whimpering dogs at it's mere mention.

If one of the GOP senators were forced to actually stand there and talk for days on end, they'd change their tone really quick.

This bill only applies to those children who were brought here by their parents when they were under 16 years of age. A child has no say over such a thing, it wasn't there choice. They followed their parents.
