And it isn't really censorship in Canada, is it? No one is preventing anyone from owning an unexpurgated version of that song.
But when Walmart says they won't carry a certain record or book because of its content, given their huge scope, it is defacto censorship. That record isn't going to sell nearly as many copies unless the artist accedes to the will of Walmart.

And, if you look at the context of the DS song, they are being sarcastic (or is it facetious?), cause IIRC the song is about themselves.I Timothy 2:1-2

Members can probably go before the law if they are threatened to have their licence revoked by the private group. The governement has nothing to do in the decision to stop airing the original version of the song.Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

what the ruling means is that it has been "Banned" from play in its OG form.
there are actionable consequences that can be handed down to punish non compliance, however, they WILL NOT take action without a listener complaint...
yes calling people a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles is derogatory, at the same time there has been 20 years of airplay and this is the first time someone has made a complaint, seems like a knee-jerk reaction on one complaint. also, I think that the context of usage should have come under the scope...
it is a charactor driven song...ffs some people are so srs..
finding a whole town without one douche who wants to complain will be tough I think though...
FWIW there is a station in Halifax doing the one hour un-edidted loop today as well...
