Looks like the pro democracy demonstrators are moving against the military. The army can't stay 'neutral' anymore.

Looks like things are being hashed out still, but this is the latest I can find:

" 'The president did indicate very clearly he was transferring all his presidential authority to the vice president, President Mubarak has transferred the powers of the presidency to his vice president, who will now undertake all authority as president.'

That makes Mubarak the de jure head of state, or as a matter of law, and Suleiman, the de-facto head of state and the military, Shoukry said, attributing the information to the Egyptian government. "

shit is about to get real serious. Mubarak didnt step down today. The people have walked down and surrounded the military base and the tv station. all of the interviews down on cnn have been of people that say they are willing to die for their freedom(more people).

edit: the military sided with mubarak. But were waiting for a speech from the military now. some say that the speech saying the military siding with mubarak was pre recorded.

They are just going to hold up the embassy, until everyone is gone, not to fight for/against ( depending on shiny/dull side of your tinfoil hat ) the current regime.

While I don't like the idea a of dictator running a country for decades, for the most part everybody in Egypt was doing the bare minimum of decency regarding different religious groups. If the douchebag falls expect the muslim brotherhood to take over and anybody who isn't muslim ( and the right kind of muslim at that ) to get wiped out fairly quickly.

Theocracies are just as bad ( actually worse ) there as they are here.

News from the ground (from here):

Mubarak is hiring thugs to create chaos all around the country, and today is just the start of it tomorrow and after tomorrow a lot are coming in from different Egyptian cities. They were all paid from 50-100 pounds (yes people are that poor).

Thugs are throwing molotov from rooftops on top of protestors in AlTahrir

CONFIRMED Some of the thugs are central security police officers, some of them were taken by protestors and searched and IDs were found.

    A lot of injuries.

Tens of thousands are on their way to AlTahrir.

Some sources are saying that Shafiq (the new prime minister) is going to resign soon.

unconfirmed It seems Egyptian Museum is on fire.

It seems the army can differentiate somehow between both sides and started throwing teargas grenades at the thugs.

Thugs turned off lights in AlTahrir Square and it looks like there is going to be a massacre there now.

    500+ injured.

A lot of egyptians are sadly still brain washed by Mubarak's last night speech and they don't care about people in AlTahrir.

There are news that if AlTahrir isn't cleared by now people with weapons will go in and clear it themselves.

... A major news channel on TV now got a girl talking about the protests in Egypt. Saying they were a group trained by American Jews and their plan was to use Facebook to organize protests, the government is turning the people against the US and Israel trying to get a common Enemy. I am speechless. Fuck the fucking retarded fucking idiots who believe this.

A lot of counter US propaganda, saying US will attack suez Canal, US and Israel are working together with AlJazeera to spread lies. And people are fucking buying it.

In AlTahrir needed: Alcohol, Betadine, Water, Plastic gloves, garbage gloves, plastic dishes, cotton, any old tshirts, anti-biotics, painkillers, Shaash

A lot of organizations happening right now directing people to head to AlTahrir Square.
What the fuck do I do? How do I fight what's happening right now?

The internet was back to get people's spirit down like for me, they didn't care if lies news were spreading around it didn't matter it was getting out anyway, they are playing on the people now and I Feel like they succeeded. A lot of the protestors are now Mubarak pros.

Protestors in AlTahrir are very few now, they are surrounded with armed forces everywhere only thing that's stopping them from entering is Army forces, which aren't that much.

A bloodbath it seems in Abd ElMen'im reyad Sq., protestors who were trying to join in AlTahrir protest are under heavy inhumane excessive attacks.

Here you go, you heard it here first. I know it's early and it didn't happen yet but that's how I see it. Revolution in Egypt is no longer a revolution. It ended in a bloodbath.

I think I lost my mind since I am starting to find this funny, but a semi neutral news channel reporter said that he saw with his own eyes and heard himself one of the thugs talking to an officer if I translate it I will try to use the fucked up US english that I know "yo officer, we did aright aright? gimme ma moneh naw"

The streets are surrounded with heavily armed thugs, if protestors leave AlTahrir is dead, they can't do it publicly since there are a lot of cameras on AlTahrir now.

Vice President is calling protestors to leave AlTahrir so they aren't on cameras and he can shoot them all.

Vice president says there will be absolutely no negotiations till the protests stop.

Talk shows are full of shit tonight. Anyone who tries to speak the truth is shut silenced.

Shots are being fired in AlTahrir Square to break out the protest tonight.

Seems a lot of pressure from the west to force the government to leave, but that's not going to happen since they got the support of the people.

I have never seen such powerful brainwashing method like today. People forget deaths, live ammo, rubber bullets, 30 years of corruption, all after a letter full of BS. And when a massacre is committed the next day no body cares.

A lot of news on how Mubarak succeeded today, they are trying to make Egypt look good and how he hired thugs and so on.

They are trying to shoot people in AlTahrir, they are calling for Aid. But there aren't much who can help them, I Personally am powerless.
