and if it went to $10, there'd be a LOT more fracking/drilling than today and at last, without the fed sticking its nose in, we'd all actually know what the cost is. we'd reach equilibrium.
what a novel concept for you libs, actual market value without making things fair.

A lot of the concern about water supply is its demand for industrial and agricultural processes. It's still going to rain and as long as it rains on an elevated area and runs to a lower one, that potential energy can be transformed into power. You could build one for your home. But shortage of potable water doesn't mean hydroelectric stops being renewable.
Learn about anything from a source other than Drudge and maybe you can be slightly more than useless.Comment

But a huge spike in gasoline price would cripple the nation as we always went along for the cheapest option with zero consideration of the future. Food prices would skyrocket (with diesel in lockstep with gas) and most people would find it challenging to feed themselves. Responding to prices is not overnight and design/development/implementation of different locomotive power sources would take time, killing the economy and starving people in the meantime. I know understanding concepts at anything deeper than a shallow or simple level is challenging for you, but maybe consider the impacts and time to adapt. There's a reason why companies have found alternative inputs for products that were formerly petroleum-based, but the impact was still felt even if it was gradual and to be expected. Intelligent people and companies are continuing this research and development, instead of holding out until it is too late.
Let's hope we continue investing in sustainable and renewable energy technology so that doesn't happen or the US becomes uncompetitive because people would rather wait until a major crisis to adapt.Last edited by rwh11385; 09-06-2012, 05:38 PM.Comment

So do you think there is a limitless supply of oil and will always find enough to support our way of life? Does it make sense to base much of our economy, livelihood, and our competitiveness on fossil fuel ? And even with some domestic supply (and Canadian), we are still subject to global demand (and supply control of OPEC). The potential for our system to crumple due to dinosaur juice price spike is frightening.Comment

That's the angriest "I don't know either" I've ever heard.
Oh, and it's not renewable - some day we'll run out of rain. trololololololol
And it's bad enough the Colorado doesn't make it to the ocean. talk about a travesty...Last edited by u3b3rg33k; 09-06-2012, 07:06 PM.
