I'd quote all your posts if I could, just to say how much I agree with your ethics.

No one here is entitled to work, and you CERTAINLY are not entitled to leach off government benefits because the jobs available do not meet your "standards" of what is/isn't up to snuff for you. If you have to shovel shit to keep food on the table, grab the fucking shovel, get rid of your unjustified ego that your unskilled self are entitled to a certain standard of work and do your damnedest to get yourself out of that shit pile. The opportunities are there, even if this recession people are succeeding because they have the determination to make something of themselves.

No where did I ever say fix the illegal alien problem and poof the United States is back to its once Glory.

But for Americans not to do the jobs that "illegals" do is bullshit and you know it. What makes them any better than the "illegals" that do want the work?

And because they refuse, what gives them the right to think its ok to live off others that sacrifice?

Nope, economy is pretty spiffy up here. There's actually been a labor shortage the last few years in Alberta, fast food joints were starting kids off at $12.00 an hour and couldn't fill a shift. It's gotten a little better recently with the influx of eastern Canadians coming in and filling manual labor positions, but most of them are temporary workers and if you're skilled you'll find a decent job somewhere.

Being a 'Big Oil' boom city doesn't suck. Plus, rumor has it the Mexicans hate snow. :)

If and If people did the jobs illegals do, our standard of living would be lower than it is now. Economically farmers, small business, and some mid size business would not survive without illegals doing the work; this is an economical fact. Hell large corporations would pay large dividends to its investors and return profits for larger spending if it wasn't for the use of illegal immigrants doing back breaking work for wages lower than legally set. That's capitalism baby!

Our country is built off using others and living off them, what do the think the military sacrifices for. I know what your saying is that lazy people shouldn't live off our hard work, hell I've paid a lot of taxes this year and will the rest of my life. But our country by design is to protect peoples freedom and there is a freedom to be a lazy turd.

This is Truth, When younger,I worked drilling rigs to keep the bills paid, and it did for half the year(mid summer to late Winter seasonal work), the other half, I built fences for $10-12/hour or worked Temp Jobs, or worked in a pallet factory where I was the only non Indian there...whatever it took.
when I figured it wasn't sustainable long term, I ended looking for other more sustainable Employment, I got hired to by an oilfield distributor. started inside sales, went to Project quotations, outside sales, Account executive, and now I switched industries and Manage a multi millon dollar Wholesale distribution business.

it took me 5 years to get to Management.

work for it, and it comes. end of story.

This is how I feel and I like that they are trying it with the "Georgia Works!" program. I think for extended unemployment benefits you SHOULD be required to work to get them. Maybe not 60 hours a week but put in 30 hours to get your $400 check. I don't care if its moving bodies in a morgue and you used to be a CEO. If you want the govt to sustain you then you get to do those jobs that nobody else wants.

That would motivate people to work harder to get off of that shit.

Seen it over and over, illegals do take Americans jobs. But we do have a huge problem with the wefare state we've created. It's only getting worse.

WOW I cant believe what some of the kiddies think they are entitled to

I used to run a shovel in live sewer all the time for a living, and believe me its NOT UNSKILLED, it takes years to train a good construction laborer. While I can give you the basics in about 3 days for 1 task of many, but have a true grasp of the job and know what to do and how to do every aspect of it it when there is lots of shit in the way in the ways of utilities and so on takes YEARS.

I never made anywhere close to 30 bucks an hour, even with a very advanced skill set and 10 years in the trade. 22 plus 6 in benefits was where I topped out, and I loved the work and still to this day miss it in some ways.

I worked on 2 farms for 8 bucks an hour for years on top of working around the family farm for free as a kid. I paid my dues and worked my ass off, and now I have made my way to an hourly rate over 30 an hour, but I have had to prove my worth and earn it all the way. No one every handed my anything, I had to prove my self and even fight and prove to people I was worth the risk to hire to even get a chance to get where I am today.

I am above shoveling shit and mucking around in it to get a job done. FUCK NO, I will go back to it in a heart beat if thats what it takes to keep a roof over my head and food on the table and in the dogs bowl. Whom ever said its hazardous has never done it. Put your rubber boots and gloves on and have at it you will be just fine

You guys are missing the point. I only said 30 an hour because I thought that might be about what an apprentice electrician makes and I think shoveling shit should make a comparable wage because of its hazardous nature. I was also only trying to illustrate the fact that if illegal immigration stopped, the jobs would not simply stop getting done, but the wages would just increase to accommodate documented workers.

Still not getting it, there are plenty of people willing to go out and put sewer and water lines and other infrastructure in that, cant because there are way too many people of questionable legal immigration status, fill those jobs.

The contractor I am baby sitting now is working in PA and WV, based out TX. 2/3 of the crew cant speak a lick of engirsh, and they are all still making 20+ bucks an hour, and I know some are "questionable".

Its a shame that so many kids and adults for that matter have bought the "I went to college so I dont have to do physical work" line. There are lots of good paying jobs out there for the taking all you have to do is be willing to work for your money.

I know many of you say would never do, or make the sacrifices I do to make a living, but if you get hungry enough you would jump at the chance.

will just post this up 1 more time

I am for doing good to the poor, but...I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer. - Ben Franklin

Not to mention the ACLU was all over in days. And it was to be instituted only on those that were on the long term welfare rolls 5 years plus IIRC , and it was only like 10 hours a month, that could have been served in any way you wanted. All in one day, or 1/2 hour a day for 20 days, or any combination there of. So you could still have the time to go out and try and find an fucking job.
