I'm unapologetic. I stand by everything that I've said and have nothing more to discuss.

I suggest you re-read my posts and revise your opinions because you couldn't be further from the truth.
So far most of your rants have started with "if you re-read my posts" well I guess that means everyone's reading your shit wrong?? Maybe you should consider thinking more about what you post before you throw a sloppy pile of shit on here. Obviously you're not getting your point across in this discussion and haven't been able to in the past 100+posts on this thread. All you do is stir shit and run in circles. We adults really don't have time to discuss matters like this with someone who has the debating capacity of an 11 year old.

Discussion is always good, even though it may seem like a "fight". Opinions are told and people think about stuff.
Though most of that is oppressed nowadays.

To the OP. Read "The God Delusion" By Richard Dawkins. I think he makes some eloquent points about religion and atheism, more so than anyone on here can.

Have you considered that maybe it isnt your lack of religion?

Perhaps it's the way you "discuss" things in rather rude and abrasive ways of getting your point across as posts like this demonstrate:

              In post #90 you stated:

I told you to re-read my posts because the answer to your question was given in post #60.

I can't control whether you bother to read a post or whether you understand it but perhaps you have an explanation of how that post wasn't clear enough for you.

How would an adult handle this kind of statement:

is your idea of an immature response to the string of personal insults he posted?

Religion threads do that, I've been part of plenty of long winded arguments myself trying desperately to prove a point that you think the other person doesn't understand, they just don't agree with you! As soon as it got into a name calling bitch fest I pulled pin, people desperate to come out with the upper hand.

Not to stir the pot but, I think this belongs here.
I don't really agree with the video but, it was thought provoking.

BTW, this was shot at the high school I went to.

for me i grew up in a christian home. went to a lutheran school up till 6th grade, church on holidays, prayed once a month maybe, normal i guess. i remember one day in church with my grandmother hearing the sermon, being told it was my fault this jesus fellow died, BUT that it was OK...i couldn't help but think that's BS! i had nothing to do with anyone's death, and who is this guy to obsolve me of these so called sins? thats when i started researching and actually questioning things. i'd argue with classmates and they'd give me the "because god" answers. in high school we got into Darwin, made a lot more sense. i read some of stephen hawkings books, blew my mind.

i went from an agnostic to an atheist a while back, took me a long time to learn to hold my toungue when people would say religious things to me, now just smile and say thats nice.

as for religion, i beliece it is a GOOD thing, it teaches basic morals and for some it helps them find strength with in themselves that they cannot muster up on their own. i think the hardest thing i came to accept is that when i die, i die. no heaven, nothing after, it just ends and that is that, i will know nothing of it....but that makes this life SOOO much more important, only one chance so why fuck it up?

its funny though, to be a republican AND athiest

edit: just read some of the posts in here. whats with all the name calling and rudeness? not cool to insult/attack someone for how they live their life and for what they believe.
idk who said it, but someone called smooth a "fake crhistian", uhm how can you be a fake christian, if you accept jesus as your savior you are a christian. there are different religious communities within catholism donchya know?
