Jesus the Christ was his son, Lucifer was his creation that got cast down because he thought he could do better than God. The third of Heaven that got cast out along with Lucifer were the ones that sided with Lucifer. The space in heaven that was open is the space that God will repopulate with those that trust him from the earth.

Feeling bad for him is like feeling bad for the leader of a mutiny on a ship, but saying he wasn't the bad guy, it was the third of the staff on the ship that did his biddings fault.

The whole concept is 12,000 members of each of the 12 lost tribes to make that 144,000. Yeah. Personally, I don't see it as a deat set number, but more an example of a very small portion of all of humanity. You know, kinda like when you say you've read/done something "hundreds" of times, even though in actuality, you've only read/done it 67 times.

Although many "Christian" sects buy into a derivative of that concept. Jehovah's Witnesses are all about the 144,000. I assume that's where you got that concept from, amirite?

Also, those 144,000 are not getting keys to Heaven as it is said, they are the ones that will preach to the people left on earth after/during the Rapture depending on whom you ask. And they are all to be virgin males with seals on their heads. As it is said anyway.

I'm quite partial to interest in the Cult of Atheism.

I mean, come on, who takes the time to expound and philosophize on the concept of non-existence? If there is nothing, I'd think they would have better use of their free time not focusing on others spirituality.

They come down the driveway once or twice a year in a black mitsu lancer (not an evo) to spread the good word.

The interesting thing about them is they wont have blood transfusions or organ transplants because they think the spirit lives in the blood. Next time they drop by, ask them questions about the "Generation of 1914", or look it up yourself, it's what I ask when they drop by my place.

Ah yes the "cult" of atheism, what with its lack of organizing by beliefs, no governing bodies, being the default position of rejection of proposed beliefs. We sure are a untrustworthy bunch!

We spend time talking about it as its a huge part of society and has been since man became civil. Don't try and belittle our actions because we choose to get a chuckle at your attempts to explain the unexplained with supernatural stories remencescent of the flavour of the week before it but with a new spin. There's nothing intellectual about it, hence religion being scarcely part of the lives of players in major academia. Face it, it's suited to the mouth breathers of the world. The lower the IQ and education, the stronger the faith. That's not opinion, that's fact.

One could make the argument that religion exists to avoid the contemplation of nonexistence. That is what some fear most, is it not?

This is on track of the topic at hand. How did we jump to Atheism? Everyone gets it, Atheists believe those in organized religion are fucking morons, and those in organized religion believe Atheists are faithless shells. This picture shows some good points as to man creating God instead of God creating man. Please share your thoughts on this. We've heard and seen enough Atheist vs. Religion debates to last a lifetime on this forum.

I'm with cale, my cult doesn't specify that I sit around and wonder what happens. I live for now and enjoy it. When I die, I'll never know I was here and will be happy to provide worm food............or have my ashes spread in the sea.

God never was good at math nor the people who led the religion. Two of each species to repopulate the world? The measurements used for the arc was suppose to house every species on the planet and the amount of food to feed them? Jesus fed 5000 people with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread? The Bible is full of mathematical and physical impossibilities.
