Surprisingly large amount of people not voting. Yet they still voted "not voting" in this poll.
Seriously if you have the time to lurk on r3v and open this thread and vote in it that your not voting then why not just go out and vote.

So 18 people will take the time to cast a vote in a meaningless online poll but wont take the time to educate themselves and vote on an issue that matters like VinniE3o said...

Tell me this isn't a large part of whats wrong with America.

because voter apathy. the system sucks. these two guys suck.

personally i'm going third party for the same reason. but i understand the feeling that your voe doesn't matter for shit. particularly with the weight of the electoral.

Maybe they don't care who wins because neither candidate represents their views or perhaps they live in a state where their vote doesn't count. Eliminate the electoral college and more people will vote.

eliminate the electoral college and the same number of people will vote because apparently no one cares if their vote actually matters or not
and they will still go on thinking that the president matters more than he does.

anyway, I'm sure we all saw this coming:

The reason the video kills what remains of Romney's bid for the White House is because of what it tells us about his understanding of the basic facts of the American situation: He thinks there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the economy.

Yeah, he pretty much committed suicide on that one. Not that we didn't already know he's a condescending rich dick, but to actually say that and insult half the country.. then repeatedly stick his foot back in his mouth at any attempt to recover. I think I just heard him say it again about military veterans. Those boys pay just as much as the rest of us!!

What exactly is your point? The insidious nature of his comment wasn't highlighting that 47% of the population doesn't pay federal income taxes (because they are too poor to pay taxes), it was the lie that all of those people are 1) democrats and 2) on welfare.

                    Trivia time!

                    NAME THAT PRESIDENT:

In XXXX, for example, [President ????] bragged that as a result of his tax reforms "millions of working poor will be completely dropped from the tax rolls."

:hitler: yeah those bastards! how could they possibly make less than $50,000 a year (family of 5)!?!? I mean, if they wanted to be rich, they only had to just become rich. Easy as that!

let's not even get into the fact that the majority of that 47% pays state income taxes, and then divide the rest up between disabled, elderly, and military, and you get a little more than our unemployment numbers because people like romney can skip out on it. you see the problem here?

this is a pretty good list of 15 ways obama sucks just as much as r-money.
by BAR managing editor Bruce A. Dixon Republicans and Democrats, like Romney and Obama are of one mind on many more things than they disagree about. From war and empire to their policies on Big Ag, Big Energy, “clean coal and safe nuclear power,” and the war on drugs their areas of agreement are vast and troubling, and perhaps far more important than the rhetorical and stylistic differences highlighted by US political campaigns.

It doesn't matter that much, but obama isn't great, even though that's true romney would be far, far worse.
Personally I want Jill Stein to win, but that'll never happen because none of you have probably even heard of her.

The point is that no matter what you think of Romney, the fact is that 47 percent of people don't pay taxes. At the same time, the majority of those people are receiving government aid. In other words, they are no paying into a system, but they are receiving benefits.

Regardless of what you believe about the kind of people on these programs or their intentions, you should be able to see the issue at hand.

Taking all the money from all the rich people in this country wouldn't fix any of these issues. Therefore criminalizing every successful person as rich and greedy gets you nowhere.

I don't actually believe this 47% number at all. Even if you make minimum wage you still pay tax on it. It's insulting.
