Getting a Federal Income Tax rebate =/= Paying zero taxes
Why are some people too fucking stupid to understand that?Last edited by CorvallisBMW; 09-21-2012, 12:53 PM.

If its that regressive, why not move out of the state. Somewhere where you can save more of your earnings?
I have the rare opportunity to work at a place where a lot of the employees have worked nearly their entire lives - 20-30 years of service isn't unheard of. Also, many of them are getting close to retirement and there's about a 20 year age gap between them and the "next generation". That means they need guys like me to replace them, which means career opportunities abound. :)
I could get a similar job elsewhere, but I doubt I'd be treated as well, even if the pay was better, and it wouldn't be as secure. So, I'll deal with the highish taxes for a better quality of life.

then dont bitch if you are not able to get ahead in your current position. And dont expect the nation to help you either as its not their problem you are not willing to make the sacrifice.
I moved to Miami beach to pursue my business. My business modal does not work in most places but works very well here in South Beach. I am a country boy that prefers to live in the mountains vs the beach. But I figure I would work my ass off a few years, sell off, and never have to work again. Ill pay my dues when I am young so later in life I can enjoy it with out having to think about working again. Unless I wanted to of course.Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!

Also to be fair, I was one of those people on the map who didn't pay federal income taxes in 2008. I actually got a shitton back from the IRS. First Time Home Buyers Tax Credit, retrofiled from my 2009 purchase. Holla.
Generalizing anything involving our ridiculous tax code is ignorant of its complexity.Last edited by CorvallisBMW; 09-21-2012, 12:53 PM.

But no, you did still pay sales tax, etc.
I haven't heard anyone, well anyone with any intelligence, as presenting it as paying NO tax.Last edited by CorvallisBMW; 09-21-2012, 12:53 PM.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

I do something that I enjoy, that is what pushes me to keep going. I just found Miami Beach the place where I can make my future dreams happen. Am I the typical Miami Beach person? Hell NO! But sacrifice is the name of the game!Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!

Income taxes only account for 42% of the federal income, so when people use this argument it's usually an attempt to intentionally skew the facts to suit their argument.
