I don't believe the gov't cares about me and I do believe the gov't wants to impose more and more control on us.and you are deluded, maniac, into believing that obamacare is about your freaking health.
it isn't.
it's about control by the government and killing private health insurance.
it's about keeping you attached to the teat of government.
its about democrat votes
you actually believe these bastards CARE about you? when they exempt themselves from it?
how about trying something radical, introducing competition into health insurance. allow cross state border insurance, give you and me the same tax deduction a business gets for premiums, have a menu of options you want, not that you're forced to pay for.
any government programs you're aware of that do what they promise and come in at cost or lower (like the private market)?
You'll notice I said I don't agree with how it was implemented. I believe in competition, high-deductible option plans with an HSA which is what I have at work.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

How does Obamacare preclude in any way the addition of cross-state competition of insurance companies? Isn't that some progress we could possibly, gasp, hope for in the the next 4 years?"I think we consider too much the good luck of the early bird and not enough the bad luck of the early worm."

Nope.
How in the hell does a law that requires everyone to purchase health insurance kill insurance companies?obama care is designed for one purpose, to kill private insurers and get everyone into gov't healthcare, that is it. the democrats don't give a shit about you or me. most repub's don't either.Comment

come on
by mandating what coverage is to be offered, no discrimination in pricing, and the way they did no pre-existing conditions (you can sign up after the fact for benefits and then dump you coverage - in essense benefits with no pay in) it almost guarantees insurance companies will lose money.
then, if you don't purchase healthcare insurance, you get fined. the fine is about 1/5 the cost of buying insurance, so why buy? and you don't need to pay in until you get sick.“There is nothing government can give you that it hasn’t taken from you in the first place”

The individual mandate is in place because of the requirement that insurers no longer deny those with pre-existing conditions. Insurance companies love the law, their lobby considers it a victory. Still, while I don't think the ACA will hurt insurance companies in any way, I still consider them a needless leach on society.come on

Am I correct in my interpretation that you don't favor protecting those with pre-existing conditions?Comment

There always have been high risk/guaranteed acceptance Insurance pools for those with pre existing conditions that could not buy standard plans on the individual market. So again your point is moot at best.
I know this shit for a fact since thats how we had to buy the little woman's for about the last decade. An its really very good coverage. Oh wait but we are rich because we made the sacrifices and ate top romen, eggs, rice and generic soup for months at time some times to make sure we paid that up every month no matter what. The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. -Alexis de TocquevilleOriginally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

So the new laws will allow you to save some money going forward and have money left over to eat better. That must really burn your ass."I think we consider too much the good luck of the early bird and not enough the bad luck of the early worm."

no, its the ability to obtain coverage and get benefits immediately without paying into the coverage, and i don't know the answer on how to get it to work. The individual mandate is in place because of the requirement that insurers no longer deny those with pre-existing conditions. And they are INSANELY expensive. When I worked at State Farm we had a lady get hired on specifically for the insurance she would get.^

She took a salary cut for the insurance, she previously had cancer and was paying something like $1000 month for coverage for herself, not including her family.
YOu'll come back with some stuff about priorities and saving money, etc, but on the average salary in this country, 40-50% of your take home pay going to health insurance premiums isn't really affordable.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com
