and very true this isnt all on bush.. but hard to look past that when Clinton was president.... gas was 88 cents a gallon.. debt was down to its lowest point since WW2....and we had a surplus of import/export of about 1 billion dollars each fiscal quarter toward the end of his 2nd term...did i mention the budget was balanced?

As for gas, it was about $1.82 when Bush left office. We were also 5 trillion dollars less in the hole when Bush left office as well.

but the policies he had in place when he left are directly responsible for our issues..lol 8 years of decisions don't appear over night...it takes time.. ..now like i said.. im not saying obama has made right decisions.. not at all.. but bush was tool... i personally dont like either Obama or Romney.. but anybody who says bush was a better president.. is absolutely blind to well everything..lol

The president has by all practical purposes zero control over gas prices. Neither Bush nor Obama can be blamed or credited for gas prices at any point during their presidencies, such knowledge is truly elementary.

I honestly think Bush did his best (in his mind) to help this country. Yeah he made some bad decisions but there were a lot of things that did not make his job easy. (ex. 9/11 - Katrina - the slowing of the economy well before mainstream picked up on it etc...)

My vote for Romney will not be because I am for Romney, but I feel Obama has made some really bad decisions that will affect this country for years to come. Romney can do no worse at this point. And its time for Change! Obamas presidency was not going to be easy at all. I was kind of glad the other side did not win even though I voted for it. Because it was going to be the hardest presidency ever. Now this one is so much more important due to the things Obama has done.

I was close. But yes Gas was super high during Bush and as stated the Gov really does not have much control over prices of fuel as talked about in many posts here in P and R. The economy was on it way to tank as I think I posted in this thread just before you posted. If not my bad and its another tread in P and R.

something I have learned especially in being on R3v. Is that you lose a lot of understanding about a persons view only because you really don't know the person. And trying to read into what the other is saying its quite difficult as a lot of the time you have already formed an opinion of a person based on his/her post history.
