Having going to a university with a large liberal arts college I did learn one really awesome thing about having a high population of gay guys around:

less competition. Seriously, at the University of Kansas women already outnumbered men. Throw into the fact that we had the highest percentage of men who werent interested in them of Universities in the area made it like shooting fish in a barrell.

I have yet to find a situation where gays are a threat to me: You cant catch it so I don't have to worry about getting the ghey, they aren't trying to steal my women and they are considerably less likely to steal/hurt/murder than any other group (That is why they are soo good at gentrification; they move into the ghetto, don't commit crime and decorate the place all lovely. Makes property values too high for the criminals).

while i agree with that train of thought in an ideal world, we dont live in one. reminds me of morgan freeman's words on eliminating racism by not talking about it. in a perfect world, were people have equal rights and opportunities, that would be great.
