It was the right decision by the President to leave the decision to Congress per the Constitution. We can not fault him for that. The options here are bad and worse, and people will ultimately blame the country/our government or him for whatever the outcome.

The good thing about this is that if you do or don't think our Country should aid the Syrian Rebels or do something about the chemical attacks, now is the time to write your Congress-people or participate in a protest, just do something, etc.

However, I think too many people in our Country will just watch reality TV and not care. Most people are more worried and/or informed about Miley Cyrus right now. And that's the sad state of affairs we live in.

I wish the US was more like ancient Greece, and all the states would get to vote on if we would go to war or not.
This whole Syria thing is BS

Dude, they are. That's the point. Your state representatives that hopefully you and your neighbors had a say in electing will vote on whether we take action and what that might be. That's the law. If you mean that we should hold an impromptu country-wide citzen by citizen vote, I would go along with that, but unfortunately we're not set up for it/it's not realistic.

That happened a pretty long time ago. There's been more cannibalism since.
There really is no 'good side' and I also say let them go through a civil war with no intervention.

                  This.

Let them draw up their own borders. They're still very much tribal. Grouping them all together as we did after WW1 was stupid, but it was a different time, and we can't go back and undo it. We just need to sit back and let them do what they do now. If they threaten the US directly, intervene, but we're not the world police.

                            Ugh, not again.

McCain hasn't found a country yet that he isn't willing to bomb. At least the resolution says no boots on the ground, hopefully that remains true if this still happens.

We all know it's not going to. Someone is going to come up with some reason to send out guys over there.

....then the next prez candidate will be tossing around "pull out of Syria" while we're still toiling around in Iraq and Afghanistan. Not to mention the threats Iran and Russia have put forth.

Seriously not a good move by US.....I had to read and re-read the news when it said 10-7 in favor of strikes.

The resolution passed with a bipartisan margin of 10-7, with one member, Sen. Edward Markey (D., Mass.) voting “present.”

Voting for the resolution were 7 Democrats — Robert Menendez of New Jersey, Barbara Boxer of California, Benjamin Cardin of Maryland, Jean Shaheen of New Hampshire, Chris Coons of Deleware, Dick Durbin of Illinois and Tim Kaine of Virginia — and three Republicans, Bob Corker of Tennessee, and John McCain and Jeff Flake of Arizona.

Voting against the resolution were 2 Democrats — Sens. Tom Udall of New Mexico and Chris Murphy of Connecticut — and 5 Republicans, Sens. James Risch of Idaho, Marco Rubio of Florida, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, John Barasso of Wyoming and Rand Paul of Kentucky.
