    my current opinion: using the states' rights argument to handle the responsibility of educating children will result in economically disadvantaged states (looking at you, midwest and south) delivering an inferior educational product/experience, further entrenching these states in a higher-than-average poverty level.

    Why are you OK with the Feds running the EPA, but not the Dept of Education?

    Certainly if people don't like a pollution filled area, like the Cuyahoga River in Ohio in the 1960s with the river catching fire, they can just pick up and move somewhere that has implemented anti-pollution policies, yes?

    That's the conservative message, yes? If you don't like your job, find a better one. No jobs where you live, move to where there are jobs, etc etc ad nauseum.

    Meaning there is some justification for the existence of the EPA, but none for the dept of ed.
    if ever there was proof that powers not given to the federal government are supposed to be reserved for the states, the dept of ed is the poster child.

    Frankly there are a lot of us that want the excesses of the Federal government rolled back, and the two that needed it most were the EPA and dept of education.
