Do spark cuts like that harm the motor in any way? What's the benefit in shifting? Never really looked into it!

It's also all E34 driveline up front, which is a little beefier than the E30 stuff.

Its normally used on seq or dogbox cars but you can shift a normal gearbox without letting the foot of the trottle :) No huge benefit but a little faster shifting and less lag between shifts maybe.
