Yes, PFC E30s rule the braking zone, and yes, buy the cheapest rotors you can find and change them whenever changing pads. I learned not to buy rebuilt calipers from some places as they are aftermarket junk... better to rebuild your OEM calipers. I have always been happy with RBF 600.

another vote for PFC. stupid cheap for e30s. I run superblue/typ 200, cheap blanks, stainless lines, PF08 front/PF11 rear for some trail braking fun. super smooth, good bite, locks r comps up from triple digits as many times as you want.

Do the stock rotors ever seem to warp using the PFC's? Or do the pads die before the rotors wear out.

I've seen over 4 pairs of cracked brembo disc from track use. One pair was on my car :rippedoff:

Just got an email from Pfc saying they don't make 08s for the rx7 calipers :( they recommended the 97s as a very close substitute. Anyone have any experience with this compound?

Edit: just looks these up and they are 250+ per set!! :( might have to go back to stock front brakes.

Wow - well this thread has opened my eyes a bit. I've been running HP+ pads in my old track car (Protege) for a number of years and stuck with them for the E30. Me thinks I'll be making the switch over to some PFCs fairly soon.

              Thanks for the tips guys!

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I just ordered F+R 08s and will be getting them their own set of Brembo blanks.

I've been running HP+ for a couple of years now with no issues also. However, I'm using a Massive brake kit and running on 200 tread wear tires. Also, my regular track (Putnam Park) is not a heavy-braking track.

Out of curiosity, how sticky of a tire are you running?

This!!! Even for street use I am extremely unsatisfied with them.

I have a data point for you and the RX7 calipers. I use Raybestos ST43 compound and they last forever. I can go through a set of HT-10's in a weekend but the ST43's I can do 4+ before I pull them out with a few mm still left on them. I burn HT-10's down to the backers, and they tend to wear unevenly and crumble. Not the ST43. They are quite spendy ($250+) but they are worth it when spreading the cost. I have no experience with the 97, but they are old tech compared to the ST43. The ST43 stop the car, where you want, and how often you want with no compromises, all weekend long.

I use OE rotors and cool carbon pads, coupled with as lines, rebuilt calipers, and fresh ATE fluid. I have not experienced any brake fade after switching from OE pads.

warped rotors aren't really a thing. what actually happens there is uneven pad transfer from when you stop on hot brakes. avoid this by doing a cool down lap before you come in and some slow parade laps around the paddock when you come off track before you park the car--and park it in gear or use chocks instead of the brakes to stop the car.

what does happen with aggressive pads and track use is heat checking (normal, basically little micro cracks) and occasional actual rotor cracking. I haven't had a rotor crack yet and I use Chinese blanks, but your mileage may vary.

I run the PFC08's all 4 corners with centric cryo rotors from rock auto. I also use motul 660, stainless stoptech lines, and the brass guide pin bushings for the ate calipers. Its an awesome upgrade short of a BBK. I am also installing a duct kit from Harrison Motorsports for this upcoming season.

I was a big fan of Carbotech's on both brake setups I ran on my Miata.

Great, great feel. Could always find the threshold even in the rain on R888s.

And never complained even when a friend I shared the car with back to back sessions at a track day. Did something like 11-12 sessions in one day and almost no wear.

So glad to hear all of the great reviews on PFC 08's. I ordered a set for the F&R along with centric $15 rotors for our Lemons build. I had already read a few good things, but this thread seals the deal. Looks like we'll have no worries.

How often are you Lemons/endurance guys changing fluid? Can I get through an 8+6 hour weekend or should I be flushing between days? Was planning on using Castrol or Valvoline synthetic since it's cheap/easily available locally.
