Qship you can post the pics I sent you. After looking at them again I realize it really wasn't that much sticking out, looks the same as the other pic posted. I just thought they would be all under the fender...

The shop knew I wasn't making it a track car now, and the wheels/tires weren't on there when they did the alignment so they weren't aware of any issue at the time. I'll have to see how it works with the camber that way for now.

Setting up track cars and not recommending you to increase front camber for better cornering is pretty strange, to say the least. Did you ask for a street or a track setting? Maybe next time you should ask them...

Kind of odd these wheels would fit other cars better.

The pics you sent to me don't look like you have very much negative camber at all for a track car, or even a lowered street car. It could be the angle of the photos, but the wheel dosen't look too awfully far out.

If it's OK with you, I could post the pics up in this thread tomorrow.

Well since they are the local tech inspection facility for the BMWCCA and have 20+ years between them in setting up cars I think they know what they are doing. It may be that I didn't ask them about the front camber when I had the car aligned since I had the factory upper mounts and just assumed that would be enough.

Now that I think about it if the car is lowered the camber would go negative, so I should actually increase the camber to get it back to normal.

Change shop. It seems that they don't know much about driving cars around tracks...

I had a Goodrich G Sport 225/50-15 mounted on the 15x8 wheel today to see how it fits.
The rear looks just fine, tucked under the fender on my 88 325i with rolled fender lips.

The front is another story. With the 225 width tire it really sticks out past the fender, about an inch or so. At first glance it reminds me of those cars with the wheels sticking way out past the fenders. Not sure if I can live with that but we'll se once I get the other 3 wheels...might have to use 205's on the front.

Do you have an IX? I have 225 Advan AO32s on 15x8 ET 20 and even at 0 degrees front camber, they didn't stick out at all. I doubt the BF Goodrich tires are much wider, as the Advans even bulged a bit on the wheel. I don't think you should be having those fitment issues...

My car with GC camber plates installed - camber was pretty close to zero on the front in these pics. Now at -2.5 degrees, the tires are tucked in much more.

you need camber correction. keep 225's, cut the bs and correct your camber.
