I've used both RT-615 and RS2. The RS2 doesn't have as much rubber touching the ground but still grip similarly to the Azenis on the dry. They are great in the rain. I loved mine and would buy them again for street/track use.

Btw, I had mine mounted on Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 15x7. They fit fine.

^ I've driven on both, and a buddy of mine I autocross with also had both sets. Both are good in autocross, but the RS2s are a notch better in rain vs the rt615s... IIRC rt615s measure wider and also warm up quicker.

k.. just got back. tires felt great.. though I think I can see where people say they have a softer sidewall. still, they stuck like glue.. gobs better than the BFGs I had on the other car. I wish I could provide more info but thats it..

I was at an all-day open track yesterday with a bunch of buddies. I'm on TR 15x8s with 205/50 Falken 615s. The car worked beautifully, and I'm really happy with the chassis. But I was a little disappointed with the tires. I've used them before on a different car, and I was expecting more grip. I don't know if they were just too new (3 weeks old, first real heat cycle), or if I need more section width. They were running at about 140 deg F on all 12 temps with nice smooth grip lines, but got a bit greasy after a few more violent laps, which I expected. Since I burned through half of the tread in a single day, I know it won't be long before I need another set. I think I'll try the RS2...

For track days victoracers aren't that much more in your size no? they don't wear out as fast as soft autocross tires.

R-S3 is due out this spring.

"As a successor to the track-proven Ventus R-S2 Z212, and compliment to the Ventus Z214 racing tires, Hankook Tire has applied its latest motorsports technology to improve dry-grip performance by 30 percent; further enhancing the tire’s handling capabilities. The profile has been developed to maximize the footprint contact patch. In addition, based on the great success in 2007-08 of Hankook DOT R Compound tires in competition, the compound technology responsible for winning on the track has been applied in the new Ventus R-S3."

The R-S2 had a great selection of sizes, so I'm holding out hope for the R-S3.

I remember seeing the new R-S3 at the show. it had orange flames in the tread. Hopefully they will dump that before production because you will not see flames on any of my street cars.

the only noteworthy change to production models is the orange flame on the tread, which will actually be molded into the tread on the production version and won’t be colored.
it's still a little wierd though.

wouldnt orange flames just turn black in no time anyway?
