I agree about all the r3v vs e30 tech bs. Most of us frequent both. The tech does have giga shadow though and dancing banana's.
Still waiting for arroval for e30 tech

Giga is on here to. Just not under that name and no where near the post count
and for those that don't know, Giga is the neg rep bandit and usually the reason noobs have neg rep. lol

^^ Couldn't agree more...If Gunni, Mattias, Pete, Mitch, etc...and those guys came over it would make this place just that much better. Mattias has his own forum so any of us can have access to his knowledge. Chris(nando) is right up there with these guys IMO with knowledge about tuning and MS. R3v does have Jlevie though, and that guy is like a walking e30 encyclopedia.@IRON-E30 aka Edwin:DComment

Yes, "dk" used to live in Manhattan beach Cali, I met him a couple of times at meets before he became a moderator on the tech, he would regularly post on here. Same thing for Mitch, I got a little buzzed after a meet with him and a couple of other r3v members.

bimmerforums
e30tech
maxvbimmer
r3vlimited.
of all those forums, R3V has always been the #1 for "active" querries on my part.
there IS alot of great information and writeups over on E30tech, but that's info i've practically saved on USB for projects i've done, and eventually those writeups/info trickles over on r3v.
I couldn't be happier with the r3v community as a form of 'support system' when it comes to backyard wrenchers such as myself, to heading to the leagues of big boost setups and M60 swaps.
R3V ftw all day.
Maxbimmer for local FS ads and local shops/tunners
E30tech...kinda like that public library that's open but nobody at the counter...ever.Originally posted by flyboyxi have watched my dog lick himself off a few timesComment

I usually only post on e30t. Been on it for 2 years now and i just cant get use to the layout over here because its so different. the FI section might as well be empty here... The fact that the e30t forum is almost like a gated community makes it seem like we are a very tight knit group.. I personally would hate a merger of the forums. 2cents

And I don't see how anyone would want the E30 crowd to be a "gated community", that impedes innovation and knowledge sharing.
As far as getting used to a forum setup, that doesn't take long.Comment

That's the thing though we my only have 30-40 daily active members over there but everyone pretty much knows there shit. Seems like we have a or many specialist in every aspect of the e30 already.

Do you pay monthly dues? Would you rather be on a forum with all of those same people and not have to pay, but also have other people participating as well? Or would you rather pay to have the exclusivity of being one of the few who are able to interact with the people that know their shit?
Another point: I guarantee there are people here as well that know their shit who may not necessarily grace E30tech with their knowledge, and have exclusive knowledge/experience that the people on E30tech can benefit from.Comment
