Well, I understand they were having a bit of a spam problem, so that's one of the reasons it's closed to new members.

ive been a member on e30 tech for years and in the past year the site has all but died, probably mostly due to the need for approval to join and the only guy that has the power to approve really not giving a fuck, the site has a great ammount of info and many knowledegable folks but in reality if you wanna actualy want to sell something or get a response to a question soon r3v has so much more traffic anymore its barely worth going over to e30tech save for a few people who dont seem to wonder over here.

It's not closed, the owner just doesn't care, unless you want to give him money of course.

No kidding. AND he takes your money without permission. Had to cancel subscription a few times now since I was getting double charged. I just got charged $35 today and had to have it reversed, it was only supposed to be $15. I have been a paying member since 07, I don't mind supporting forums.

Oh, and you have a pm :P

I've been waiting over a year - same people that post here but R3v is far bigger.

This place works just fine for me.

I think R3V should buy E30tech, import all threads here, encourage E30tech members to join R3v, then close E30tech.

R3v members shouldn't have a problem all chipping in a little $$ to buy E30tech.

E30Tech gets worse every day. I find myself on R3V more now...but this site has it's issues too FWIW.

...and since the owner of E30tech is only interested in the money, this shouldn't be a problem.

After a quick look at E30tech (i can successfully log on for some reason), here are some quick instantaneous stats:

                        R3v
                        Active users: 209 m3mbers, 195 guests
                        Total members: 37k
                        Threads: 209k

                        E30tech
Active users: 129 members, 453 guests
                        Total members: 182k
                        Threads: 114k

so, it appears R3v is more active (more members online), with more threads, but E30tech seems to have far more members for some reason, a lot of them obviously pretty inactive (like me). E30tech had much more members online at one time than R3v did, (~1900 vs 646), but that happened on E30tech back in 2009 and here on R3v in 2012.

I got banned a while ago but I still go there because it's the only place I can still witness Lee's little tantrums and peerless's petulance.

makes sense. This further supports my idea then!

So why is it that people keep getting banned from there? Apparently I have some negative "rep" or whatever those little boxes are under your username, but I haven't been banned.

I got permabanned by dk (moderator over there) because I posted a 'u mad' picture after one of his rants in a political thread here on r3v.

                                Edit:

It was in here, the picture is long gone.
