Also, it says I have to attend court in Sonora (where I was driving through) but I live in SF. Besides driving all the way down there, is there anything I can do about this?

It should say how much on your ticket and yes you have to appear at that court.

First speeding ticket yea. And the one I have now doesn't say how much (I'm assuming I'll be getting that in the mail?) so I just wanted to get an idea of how much it was gonna cost me.

I've never gotten a speeding ticket (knock on wood), but I have friends who have all gotten numerous tickets. I think it's going to be roughly around $300

you can call the court your ticket is assigned to and ask them if your eligible for a change of venue but im almost sure you have to work that out with the officer as you're getting the ticket.


all i can tell you to do is extend it, extend it, plead not guilty, and extend it as many times as you can after that.


less likely the cop will show and you'll be refunded your bail. if he does show tell them you would like to request for dismissal and then you'll still be able to take traffic school to avoid a point on your record since this is your first ticket.
