That is if you can find a job once you get out of college. If you don't, you're screwed and the interest for those loans keeps rising. I'd rather be debt free out of college so I can start my life the way I want instead of worrying about my college debt.Comment

The interest is fixed for the most part, and like I said, it's low.
You'll find a job. It's what you make out of it.
This is if you NEED student loans.
I'm not here to argue with you or anyone, I'm encouraging you.Comment

LOL!
haha thanks john. it's actually norse mythology, okay?
you can't go living in the fear of not succeeding. i probably won't get my dream job out of school, but who cares? i'm not too proud to work in a coffee shop or something until i find what i'm looking for. as abby has been saying the interest is low and deferred, so it's not as though i'll immediately go bankrupt as soon as i graduate.
no offense intended, but your logic is a little flawed.1989 325is / 2.7, 274 cam, e30 M3 5-lug

Fair enough, but I guess my point was that I don't like being in debt. Also... I don't want to continue working as a waiter my whole life.Comment

who says doing both are wrong?WASP 4 lyfe... no.. i have had no plan to ever join the military unless i had nothing else going for me...i just feel like there are far better choices.. all of my friends that have join the military did not come back the same... but these are my experiences..and i believe going to a CC and being undecided is a better choice... an education is the best thing u could ever have.. and im just gonna try and convince him otherwise.. but if its what he wants... then i have 100% support in it...
u wanna go do 4 years of active duty to work on planes?? y not just go to crimson or something like that? u still have your own life.. and u can learn...
yeah, i know, i've been thinking about enlisting for a little while but never really mentioned it to anyone until yesterday where my parents thought it was a joke. i'm going to see a recruiter on wednesday and i'll ask a ton of questions as well as ask a few of my buddies who have served/serving. not expecting too much from the recruitment office though. as of right now. i'm leaning more towards sticking with just school since i'm already pretty far in. i appreciate you're concern.Travis; I respect your enthusiasm on maybe joining the military. Please before you make such decision, go to the VA hospital, speak to some of the younger vets and then reflect on what they have been through.
Sorry to say it man but, Big Rob is right, you should only join 'cause you have nothing going for yourself.
not in it for the pay. plus, who cares what you are getting pay when you get all your living expenses, water/power, education, etc paid for and still receive a check. plus, i'm pretty sure generals earn something around 20k a month.
