I know, ive been reading. But taking a lone is the last thing I want lol. You know whats funny I know alot of ppl who went to a four school and now they dont a job at all. I feel like now trades are where its at. Own your own shit and bank on it. Better off being a joe of all trades, find out where the market is.

The fact of the matter is, the only way to move up is to get a BA, so i totally agree. An AA will LAND you a decent job that you can afford yourself with, but to move on in life, you will need that last year or two of schooling for that BA. The benefits of an AA is that you'd Already be working, and you'd already have your foot in the door. By the time you get you BA, the higher-ups would have no choice but to bend over backwards if you applied for a higher position since you'd be considered an internal hire and have a greater shot of landing the position than someone who is fresh off the books.
I'm looking more into the medical field as of late; and that's where where i get the whole "people don't care where you went to school" idea from. They being to only care about titles and experience because by then, your work portfolio will do more talking than where you went to school 10+ years ago. Medical jobs are already hard and stressful as it is and the workforce is rather scarce, so more hospitals are looking to hire just to hire. A degree from CSULB or CSUF vs UCI wont be that much different; admission and course requirements are generally the same work-load. Only schools that have stringent acceptance policies, are incredibly tough, or are super expensive (ie: UCLA, USC, Berkeley) would land you a job instantly, but then you'd get lumped with making the same figures as someone who did only go to CSULB or CSUF and only had a tougher time finding a job. I do see your point, and I do very much agree with you, but I would have to ask... Would the opportunity cost/fiscal cost/mental stress/emotional stress be worth it? That's something we kinda just have to answer for ourselves
im in my EMT program right now and yeah im doing it at a CC but im applying for Paramedic school at UCLA after ive finished my 6months of field work. and paramedics make bank.
and when i go to get a job and they read "graduate of UCLA medical extension for Emergency Medical technician Paramedics" im sure i will have an edge over some one took a few classes at El CAmino..1989 325i SETA stroker [delphin] R3V'd 8/31/2011

I guess what Im just trying to say is... GEs at Universities suck :curse:
Better value for money at CCs, then go get your BA at a university. Theres really no right or wrong on how you do it, you just got to do it. I think the general consensus is go get your freaking education and start living you life. Just pointing out there are better options out then that going to a zombiversity for 4 years like they brainwash you into doing when your in High SchoolLast edited by JinormusJ; 04-16-2012, 09:19 PM.
