Si. I was all over it. It was a front end collision. Frame rails and inner fenders are straight. New core support, windshield, headlights, and grills. 135k miles, new tires, clean interior, everything works, drives smooth. I told him to only pay 3k but he just had to have it. At least the registration and smog were just paid. Thats worth a couple hundred.

Thats not so bad. As long as its going for DD duty. Took me a while to find out why my 190 was salvaged. Only noticed when I had the interior apart & the rear quarter was changed.

it looks fixable, but i don't know what they are going to estimate the repair to be. i really don't want a salvage title. i also know that the car is never the same after being repaired, you always know there is a battle scar beneath the surface.

They're likely going to make it a visual total. It doesn't always have to be estimate vs ACV

I would say fight for all you can on a payout, take the cash and the salvaged title, buy the car back, fix it yourself, make it a cheap track rat, and buy another DD! That's what Matt Russell would do.

that's precisely what i was looking at doing. payout, but back, store it and when i get back and have the time, i'll send it off to get fixed abd get a new dd.

however, i've never done this sooo i really don't know what to do.

if you want to keep/drive it you'll eventually need to have it looked over by the state. I'd sell it after getting your payoff and not dealing with the salvage process, or do an s50 transplant in your red turd.

Totally forgot about getting it inspected. At the dmv the guy only checked for matching VINs. Then just went to the sheriff station. done. Might be different at other dmvs not sure.

well, i won't hear anything until tomorrow so we'll see what's going on. all i know is if they are going to pay me out it, i'm not taking a small offer, not with all of the money the previous owner and i have put into it that i can prove with receipts.
