Nice matt, should be close to that estimate. I just had a nice brisk drive down from the snow in BIG BEAR this morning to go to work in chino and then drive back up after work. I use to do this 6 days a week for almost 5 years. Insane..yes....fun...yes...would i do it again? .........you bet.

car was running/ idling just fine, but then the idle started to surge( more like cutout).
opened up the throttle to keep it from dying- but it progressively got worse, even with the throttle opened up really far.
the motor then cutout and kinda dieseled. new in-tank and external fuel pumps and a new FPR. (mind you that i had been driving the car all day and never had a hick-up) running some bigger injectors from a member on here 17# (light green top i believe) -JASON- jfarhanbod
i dont think its a vacuum leak because of the nature of how it came to be. The car was not in motion while this happened. I had just finished jump starting my dads truck for him- probably was a good 5 mins after i jumped him before it started acting up.
thoughts on probable cause? car had about a 1/4 tank of old gas that i treated with a half bottle of booster along with 3/4 of new 91 pump gas. figured that was enough to freshen up the bad gas. i really hope its not the injectors.

different e30 problem: swapped my wife's blown m20 for another one we had laying around. i pulled the trans with it just because i thought it would be easier to get to the bolts that way. auto transmission.
all done now and the motor purrs, but now the trans wont engage in any of the gears. filled the fluid up so i dont think that is an issue. searched around and someone mentioned that i could of busted off the pump gear tabs? worth trying the swap in a different pump or should i look for another trans to put in?
unless somehow i missed something when hooking stuff up but im pretty sure everything is right. also, if i do in fact need to pull the trans, is it worth trying to just drop it out from the bottom? seems like i would have a heck of a time with the upper bellhousing bolts. input and thoughts are appreciated.
kinda pissed that ill have to pull everything apart again.(wife does not want to manual swap it)
