So I got a potential offer to work construction. Mostly city contracts, building roads that whole type of mumbo jumbo. Starting is around 25 and a good chance of getting up to 40$ in a few months. Thing is you only work when there is work. Anyways the money sounds good & I could always use some new skills, but anyone got advice in this field? Ive got no experience in any type of construction, but I have a good mentor if I do take the job.

^It can be hard as hell, and you will get tired of it if you are not a contractor/manager etc. Also wears on the body, but yes, good skills to learn, and makes many decide to try to move up in other ways.

I worked concrete construction with my father from junior high through college, and was back at it again this year 8 years past, when I decided to take a break from a shitstorm that happened. It has remotivated me to re-up my certs, take some classes and try to start my IT business up again.

I have very little experience working in construction and it was quite some time ago but I look at it like many other trades. It's hard work but there is the potential to make some good money. It really determines on your motivation.

Im mostly motivated by money, and I'm willing to learn a new trade. The one who offered me the job is an old family friend, and we work well together. Don't think this opportunity will come around again, and I'd really like the cash to enjoy my hobbies. The benefits are really desirable also so I may just jump on it and see where this goes. Trying to find every reason not to take the job, but so far all signs point to take it
