They have to start over in the door and respray the passenger side, hood, wing and trunk.

I'd call this some bad QC (after taking it in to buff)

If experience at these types of shops have taught me anything is that you need to be present and inspect the car as often as possible. Usually for repeat customers they would treat them right & spend more time, but first timers would get the rush job get it out the door type scenario.

Wouldn't know for this particular shop, but ive seen this at a majority. Typically the painters do a good job its the body men you need to watch. of course the damage is already done all you can do now is hassle them to get it done right this time.

They probably didnt give you any touch up paint either which you'll probably need.

Good morning. I can't recall but I was thinking last night about a Riverside meet you had mentioned perhaps? I want to go to more local meets this year. I miss the early days when I used to drive to Clairmont every week for the only local meet we had back then in "my area". I think Riverside would be much closer. At least from work it would.

I used to go in 2-3 times a week, but after weeks of nothing happening and passed deadlines I stopped going in as often.

The chino hills meet isn't happening any more? I think that is the one I was thinking of. If you end up going to the other one let me know. Or if you have a link to info that would be cool.

The confusion may be that I need it for a non-bmw motor, but yes on the front of the motor where the crankshaft pulley is

That's a bummer Mike, I hope that you get your car back soon and it's up to your expectations.

                      Cheers,

So, Im flying up to Seattle on thursday and Im going to see my E30 for the first time since October. Engine is out so I am going to clean the shit out of the engine bay so its nice and clean when they put it back in for, what should be, the final time. What do you guys recommend using? I can probably get my hands on my old roommates little pressure washer. I was planning on using some purple power and some simple green. I was also thinking about cutting off the old brackets I wont need anymore like the resevoir bottle bracket, airbox bracket and a few other little ones.

                            thoughts?

I think you got it covered Simon, I would have suggested a hard brissel brush and oven cleaner for the initial wash.
