I'll be buying one as a daily soon. Nice, comfortable, modern, practical, roomy, "new". Pretty much everything a girl wants: e30 for me, e39T for her

Plus, e39Ts look sexy with Mtech Bumpers and a nice drop.

Now if only a 5-speed would pop up for sale

Stay away from the 540(v8). SLS is cool but don't need that in the rear as well. Cooling issues mainly. Other than that great platform. Parts are readily available, but like all bmws you have to be on top of parts replacements and maintenance.

      I have an 03 525i with 160k 19/25mpg. Or about 22 average.

I bought this wanting a bigger, more comfortable dd. I'm just not digging the e34.

My advice is go with a 6 cylinder car. Make sure the cooling system is new and drive.

+1 less motor = less headache. IMO. Same reason id buy an 840 over an 850.

yep, worked on a 540 E39 wagon yesterday, the guy had put literally thousands of dollars into keeping the thing on the road. It was a dealer serviced one owner car when he got it but it still fell apart.

                                Help. I'm about yo buy a 2002 525i touring

Here's some faults from the PPI. Are these a relatively easy fixes? should I stay away? Cost of fixing all these problems?
