I've been looking maxxis's 225/45 tires lately. They are listed as "high performance" and $68/tire. They sponsor drift cars so I'm assuming the price doesn't totally reflect garbage. Who knows - though, I'm curious to find out.
Shant has Maxxis tires on his white car. Can't remember the model but they're pretty damn good.

I know someone in Simi valley, it's about $100 a pound but it's the real stuff. When you want to do it for reals, give me a shout. Make sure your drier/condenser/lines/compressor are in working order
