I went to the one in Wilmington. I asked the cashier (while buying other stuff), she straight up said $75. I guess I should have mentioned the discount? If it were under $36 I'd grab it tomorrow.

on there website it says 36.99 when you type in rack&pinion. i go to sun valley pick ur part. maybe they seen that they could have taken you for a fool. i would show the website to them on the phone. but either way they its 36.99 plus 5 dollar core also on there website it says sep 12-14 its 50% off. the women at junkyards don't know shit.

There were a ton of people at the yards today - the sale doesn't have to be mentioned. If you ask for a part price without actually pulling the part they'll just throw a number at you. If you try to argue 'posted' prices they'll tell you to take it or leave it.

Pulled a trans at big yard and was surprised I didn't get totally bent over this time...left some crank windows at the cashier's table last half-off.

Ok, saw the car and put a down payment on it. Paid less than asking.
There is a decent sized dent on the rear driver door like I though, but the car is really clean.

I'm 92% sure the guy is flipping the car. He bought it four months ago. No maintenance reports on in but swears he took good care of it and it has no issues. I drove it around and it drives great.

I wrote out a quick contract stating that the down payment is refundable and I will only pay the remaining amount pending a clean carfax report, which the seller will provide.

Upon further inspection, the seller's story doesn't check out at all.

I googled the vin and got this. Seller said he bought the car 4-5 months ago. Carfax shows that the car was sold from a dealership within the last 10 days.
