Just got back from the event earlier. I couldnt stay and drive the other cars around. damn work commitments... it was okay, but Im really not impressed with BMWs direction going forward, other than the fact that they are finally bringing diesels here. I really want a 335D

I tested three cars, a 7, 2, and i3. I don't remember the trim levels but the 7 series was may favorite. Never before had I been at the wheel of such a powerful car... holy shit... if I wanted to be somewhere... fffwoom. I was there. And with noise, and with presence.

The i3 was interesting. You hear about how electrics has 100% torque all the time; feels amazing coming off a stop (especially with no gears to shift), but it feels like the power teeters away at speed; I still prefer to drop down a gear if I want to go faster. Also, on that car, with the window down on the freeway, the air buffeting(?) was so bad, it felt like the door was open and being flexed against the wind. Lastly I wish there was a way to lessen the regen-braking when coming off the throttle. Otherwise I liked it. Needs a couple more years of R&D + real world driving. I can really see it excelling in the city, especially if it were smaller.

Then I got back in my e30. It's loud and slow, but it makes me happy.

Why go to the dealer for fuel line? Pep Boys has 5/16" fuel injection hose for much less. Make sure it's fuel injection though and not just fuel. Or you can call up Pat at BMA parts and get it through him.

25mpg mixed. 35mpg hwy. It's a 2011 Msport, hence the over 137mph. It's got 55k miles, been reliable so far, but I do expect to have some work needed in next 50k.

thats not too bad, but also not that great either. I get just about 25 mpg on my tanks, no matter how I drive.

The M-Sports look great though and they'd be the only one I would consider.

and yes, Im always happy when I get back into my E30. Today will be another day of thinking of another car to buy until I get back into my car. I never have thoughts of selling it when Im driving it.

After a few hours of suffering the pain on my last post on R3V FB I unsubscribed to that group. Way too many folks wanting to rant over nothing for it to interest me anymore. It's a damn shame that so many idiots have useless destructive comments.
