                  I heard it's a pain and not worth the trouble. One of my old coworkers replaced the seals in his rack and it still ended up leaking

                          Replacing with a rebuilt rack is far easier.

                          But then again I intend to buy a brake master rebuild kit.

                          I think for all the trouble it is to take out the steering rack, you might as well put a better one in.

                              This contradicts itself. ;) Cars without an oil cooler have a stud for the filter directly off the block.

                              It's $9 new. Part number 11112140435. 8)
