Painting is exceptionally expensive as I've learned. I've stuck with drawing, mostly graphite (pencils) and some charcoal. Portraits & figures. Clay sculpture/modeling is fun and cheap, as well as a social activity (those classes were my favorite/most fun). Wax sculpture is a bit of a learning curve, but so cool to see it cast into bronze or aluminum. Then there are the two engine tables I've built, and quite a number of custom Lego creations around the house. lol "Art" Oh and on the computer I can do/have done graphic illustrations, both vector and pixel based. I can animate motion graphics, and visual effects. I can film and edit videos; I know how to set pace, set mood, generally know where & how to use the camera, but not so good at writing stories. I can write essays about ideas no problem, but writing an original story is a challenge. I would add I like photography, but don't consider myself one above an amateur. Lastly, dancing. Performance art.
I'm two classes/one semester away from earning my degree in studio art.Comment

Thats cool, i got really into doing portraits with graphite and charcoal a while back. Chracoal is really messy. Graphite takes a good ammount of time but worth it at the end. Now im going back into painting on canvas boards.Painting is exceptionally expensive as I've learned. I've stuck with drawing, mostly graphite (pencils) and some charcoal. Portraits & figures. I have early to mid 90's wrc rally cars/btcc/dtm & hotrods & muscle cars. Go and buy it ! I have been building models since i was about 6 years old ( 42 years now lol) I am always adding something else to the collection.Check it out, I will buy a nhra funny car and then buy a 32 ford coupe. Take the parts from the funny car (mainly engine and wheels some suspension parts) and put them on the 32 ford. I will make it my own way (aka kit bashing). I have been doing that for years & years. Have you ever been to Pegasus hobbies in Montclair? Look it up! They have trains/slot cars/ rc cars-boats-planes/model cars-boats-planes-figures/diecast cars /accessories/paints etc etc etc. They have 2 r/c tracks out back behind the store. It's a very bitchin place !!!Last edited by QUKBMER; 08-17-2016, 07:22 AM.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Nitro RC cars and plastic models were how I fueled my childhood automotive obsession. Lots of good memories!

Man those plastic models bring back tons of memories, my brothers use to build them up like lowriders, switches and all. Sometimes wed get creative , heat up the bodies and mash them in as if they had been crashed. Memories memories.Originally posted by dvckI'm going to say this nicely; go fuck yourself.Comment

To combat the messiness of charcoal, I lay down a sheet of tracing paper (wax & parchment paper may work as well) under my hand. I like the contrast you can achieve with charcoal, but the precision/detail of graphite is definitely worth the extra time. What kind of things do you paint?Comment
