Anyone have any tips before I pull the side moldings on the door, fender, quarter panel?
Not trying to break anything.

Theres a few that actually thread on the back side as well. I think the fender ones are just the type that pops in, I think the door and rear quarter panel have one each that has a nut on the backside

Re Grand Tour:
Watching the intro right now: they made the same mistake as new-new TG and TGUS, just repeating the same sketches people remember. However, I briefly spotted a drift E30 so its ok.

Looks like a pretty decent track. Dont be afraid to push the car more, the E30 is a wonderful chassis and does great when you get it to rotate.

How many runs did you get?

15 runs, camera died before my fastest (and last of the day) lap, only got the photo thats included at the end of the video. Shaved 2 seconds off whats in the video run.
The ix doesn't rotate like the rwd ones (obviously) but I felt like I was doing pretty decently; braking evenly and late, early power on out of corners to take advantage of the awd. I know my lines could have gotten better with a few more runs, didn't go as wide as I could have.
Times were even/slightly better than most of the GT86s, slower than the trackrat miatas. Not bad for my first time out.

Next time I think I want to go to an SCCA event, though, have something to do between sessions. :yawn:

Spotted this sick (S52 swap? Can't remember) E30 running the roval, easily the loudest thing at the track that day:


edit: Forgot to mention, my shift knob came off... 3 times. On the upside, I only lost 2~ seconds on each of those laps shoving it back on while driving. Time to replace with something a little cooler I guess.
edit2: Oh yeah, I knew I needed to replace my seat, but wow do I need to replace my seat. Clapped out 25 year old heated leather seat, took a lot of effort trying to stay in one place (hence the accidental honk lol), and with my helmet on it's too high (had to lean back to avoid hitting my head). Ideas?

My welder went down with a broken hand after halfway finishing my long tube exhaust, anybody interested or have recommendations?

And anybody done the parking brakes before? I got the shoes on and working, but I couldn't fit the new rotor back over with the adjustment star in place. I got mad and tried to get it on via hammer, and I no longer have backup shoes because of that.
