Ok so I am starting to get ahold on how this buying a used engine from recyclers works. So every time I call a shop or engine recycler they keep giving me the mileage and price that the previous guy gives me. And now I am noticing that if I search around online, I end up with that same motor, or specifically three depending on where I search online.

So my question is, where are these guys all getting that same motor, who actually has the motor and is there a way to purchase it directly from whomever has it rather than through a third party?

Thats how salvage yards work. Atleast the ones in SunValley. You call one, they have an internal service through phone or computer where they ask eachother who has what.

They will be really reluctant to tell you who has it since they are more likely to make a couple hundred brokering.

Tried them, they dont have anything. I found quite a few on car-part.com but trying to find one that doesnt require a core exchange is difficult.

I've actually been getting a lot of work done on my car since its been raining. Broke BOTH of my back shock mounts last week, so I got to replace those yesterday. Also, my sunroof was leaking, so I blew air through the drainers and adjusted the sunroof panel.
