talk to trey, he did one. from what i hear it's pretty straightforward as far as swaps go. they're really heavy but that's all relative i guess...seems like the guys that have had them don't mind. i've driven a 535 and it's pretty dang fun. makes a killer noise too.1989 325is / 2.7, 274 cam, e30 M3 5-lug

There are several options like moving the motor to the rear of the engine bay which may require a little pounding on the firewall which will help with the weight distribution. Removing the air conditioning and a lite hood should get you pretty close to the weight difference of 57 pounds between the M20 and the M30. The M30 3.5 can be had at the junk yard for around $250. You will need some other parts like motor mounts, oil pan and a push fan. The other issue to research is the transmission which is different on the big 6. One of my friends is doing this swap to his Alpina build. He is going to turbo the M30 for a little more top end and is looking for about 400 hp. I want to do this swap on a future build so I don't know all the details but it should be here on R3V or if you have specific question regarding the parts needed I can ask my friend what he is using.
Cheers,
