    I seent it, some time last year. Pretty cool that somebody actually did this in English and in modern day too.

    Also journalist is clearly misjudging e30 cool factor.

        Well I don't think he misjudged the m3. I think he based his criticism on a better overall car. As he sees the m3 purely as 100% drivers car where the cossy is better overall. Racer when you need it/ Cruiser when you want it. Not to mention price.

          Pare have u driven both cars? ...I have and I have to say that the M3 (being fully loaded in the US) is nice and luxurious as well. The Mercedes guys act like the E30 interior is like a Nissan sentra's interior. I'll take a 13 button OBC over oil pressure gauge and lap timer (that seldom works) any day. I'll take E30 leather 8 way manual adjustable sport seats over the more cushy power seats. I'll take the 8 speaker premium sound system over the 190's 4 5x7" speakers. I'll take the 192 HP pre chipped with Bosch motronic S14 over the 2.3_16's mechanically injected engine as well. I'll take the quick rack and pinion steering over the recirculating ball any day. The list goes on... The M3 also weighs less and cost less money!...when new. One thing people don't mention is how old the 190 feels. People cannot believe the E30 is as old as it is. I mean the 190 looks good...don't get me wrong but the inside is just old school. It's very straightforward and reminds me of an old VW. Now, considering what both cars are going for today...the 2.3_16 is a bargain by comparison but you can't overlook all that I just mentioned and say the 190 is cooler and the "better car." The 190 has multilink rear suspension...ok but what good is that when the car lacks the basic ingredients to take full advantage of it? Just my .02.

                    I've riden in a handful of m3s & I don't deny it is a superior car. Having owned both a 190/e30 I can I tell you the 190 is over engineered than it needs to be.

                    I do agree that the 190 interior feels way more dated than my black leather e30, but the ride quality is like a little e30 with a little of Caddy eldorado it just glides.

                    Not saying I'd own a cossy over an m3 though. Throwing the same money at rebuilding the 16v would give you a potent s14.

                    Thought it was funny how the guy owns an e30 also.

                    I'm not subjective to either or I love both cars :)

                        Anyways I own a diesel so I'm after more of the appeal over the performance. Lol. Being smog exempt gives me the option of dropping something stupid in the engine bay one day.

                        My favorite thing about the baby Benz is the bbk options. Direct bolt on from r129/400e 4 pot brakes. 300x28/30 rotors.

                          Yes, over engineered for sure. Build quality is superb but the E30 isn't too shabby either. I still wonder what kind of E30 he has.

                              I'd have to say my least favorite part of the 190 is definitely the cluster. Looks old school vdub. The sport version isn't any better with white faces. BARF.

                              If I had an option there would be an S2K cluster in its place.

                                Idk, I like the cluster, the clock and tach combo gauge...sick...



                                I also happen to like older things...older the better, so the more oldschool it is...the better IMHO
