On that note, I recently drove a friend's E30 M3 with S50 swap and while the torque was great and it was quick...I expected more of a difference. My modded S14 revs faster, is lighter and pulls just as hard if not harder in the top end. I maintain that I prefer this swap in a non M3 chassis though. I'd do it to a 318/325 in a heartbeat but not the M3."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

i would take an s14 over an s50 anyday but i wouldn't be willing to pull one out of an m3 to put it in my car, also personal preference but the only swap you do to an e30 m3 is and S3888 325is Five SpeedLachssilberComment

I just feel that if you are going to swap...do it for more than 50HP. Don't swap a 192HP S14 for a 240HP S50. To me, that is not enough difference. I also noticed that people are partially cutting the battery tray area for clearance for the M50/S50. Didn't realize this was necessary. I thought people said it drops right in without any modification to the chassis?"I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

im lost, i need different coil-over adjustable sleeves for the front of my car. They need to be no longer than 4 inches and no shorter than 3 1/2. the ones i have on now were fine threaded and due to time and lots of adjustments the adjustable spring perches have become "loose" on the collar. looking for square cut ones preferably. the spring perches need to be able to seat 2.5id springs. the sleeves will just slide over the stock e30 strut tube.
only thing is that i cannot find a place that just sells the sleeves. i only need two of them and most places sell everything as a kit (including springs) plus they do not give dimensions on the adjustable sleeves themselves. these should not be expensive at all but im kinda out of luck here. know of any places that would just sell the sleeves?

Barry, My vote would be for either the S38 (old school) or S54. I would want ITB's in the M3 unless I was a poor college student.;) I would like to put a S50/52 in an E30 or E34 someday. I hear that it's a great little motor and fun to drive.
