Yes, the lip can become unclipped without hitting anything. I hit a pot hole and the same thing happened to me.

Do you just run the clips or zip tie the ends plus clips? I heard people do both and was wondering your preference.

I used clips for 2 years and it's come off twice.
Backing out of a driveway, so it comes off as intentionally designed to.
And going through a deep water channel dip I didn't see in a parking lot

The ebay lips come off sooooooo easy just by nudging them (not saying you have one)

As long as you're not using ESM quality, plastic clips you should not have issues. I bang my IS l all the time, when it's a hard enough hit a clip will break here and there but, for the most part, they hold up really good. Also make sure you lock the clips in, you have to hear the click to be sure that it will do it's job to the fullest.

That doesn't sound so safe since an OEM lip is hard plastic not soft bendable stuff like reps...

Does the one on your car, clip on like the e30s one?

I noticed during my drive last night that the clasp thing that pops out my rearwindow is rattling like its loose. How do I fix it?

For once in my life I agree with you.

You kind of have to decide where you want your weakest link to be, the connection between the lip and the valance or the valance itself since those are the only two variables in the equation.

I had to drill and bolt up mine since I didn't have the mounting hardware.

It's the other way around >.<

The OEM ones are softer and bend nicely with stress which don't break.
Reps are hard plastic similar to sporks and snap when they touch stuff.
