Jacking from the oil pan is frowned upon but it is the fastest way to change mounts however, there may not be enough firewall clearance to lift the engine with trans enough to change the mounts on the E24 with it's big six. The correct way to do the mounts is to use an engine support bar from the top to support the engine weight and lower the subframe enough to change the mounts.

Changing the motor mounts on a 6 is ridiculously hard. I took mine to JMP and they had to even pull the arms off. If I had to do it myself, I'd still probably be under the car crying. Do yourself a favor and take it in. It's around 100 bucks.

Fack. I did not want to hear that. I may just end up pulling the engine completely anyways. I have to change the oil pan gasket and the engine could use a clean up and refresh.

I was honestly trying to avoid using the lift. Ill give it another shot. if not then ill pull the engine.

True but dropping the subframe could alter the alignment no? I ask because I've never done it that way the 2x4/4x8 on the oil pan has always been my best option. Although the reason it is frowned upon is because it could damage the pan or the cooling lines in the back?

What makes it more difficult just the size or how it's situated in the engine bay?

I will probably be working on it this weekend. I would like to do it sooner but that may not work out.

That shouldn't be a real IS car, those came out starting in 87 IIRC looks pretty beat I would get a Vin# and search if it's a clean title then haggle from there but judging by condition i'd pass or low ball ball ball...basically what you would normally low ball for then a bit more

Mtech2 steering wheel anyone? looks like it definitely needs the leather to be redone but if you can talk him down might be worth it?

Has 85 front bumper shroud. I'd bet it sustained a pretty good front impact.

                              Nigel you should own this...

                              Actually Barry probably should.

                              It's just so nice.

As for above definitely not a good buy raf. What's your budget seriously for an e30, we could at least steer you to worthwhile pickings.

Meh. I'd never buy a red car that was not a ferrari, acura nsx, dodge viper, or e30 m3.
