    Or there's the special smog route. I may be able to offer "advice" on this.

                I've tried that route a couple times the first guys said he couldn't because ove already failed smog the other just keeps putting it off :/ and yeah I mean cat, I'll try summit...

                                                How much do you think it'll cost?
                                                I've never rebuild an engine before or know what I'm doing really.

                                                    Well, what do you want to do with the motor? Why are you rebuilding it? Restore to stock specs, or are you looking to make power? What do you know you want & need to replace? Lastly, what's your budget? It's better to have a limit of spending to define what you can afford, rather than go nuts and forget the essentials after you've run out of money.

                                                    For what it's worth, I have rebuilt an m20 to stock spec, while replacing pistons, rockers, & valves. Cost around $2k.
