Yeah. I always thought it was an idea that kept getting ripped off by one company to another since I see them in every little outlet store in LA and beachside.

You have two options and I think a rebuild kit for your driver door would be the best way to go. Option 2 is a little riskier, as we talked about it a little while ago here, and thats to go to the dealership and get a VIN cut driver door lock, and hope its the same. It seems like it should with your situation, but you wont know until you have purchased it

Ahh okay. I don't consider it a big deal but it would be nice to just have 1 key for everything.


*has anyone gotten a G260 rebuilt? I got quoted 595$+parts. And 795$+parts for dropping, rebuilding and putting the trans back in. It does include 12 Month or 12,000 mile warranty. Used units are selling for 300$ now in days and think that I might be better off with a fresh rebuilt unit.

What does rebuilt mean? Just changing the seals and putting a new shifter link and washing it from all the grease. I doubt some places will split the housing from the Trans because it's a pain in the butt.

Nope. They would split the the case and replacing any worn syncros, worn bearings and seals. It has a 12 month or 12k mile warranty so i'm pretty sure its more than just seals. I can do the seals myself but I can't do the internal work on it.
