I know the immediate response is gonna be along the lines of "use the search", but it's not that I can't find any info. It's moreso that there's way too much information. There are so many variations and versions of this build that I'm just overwhelmed when trying to figure out the best approach

Hoping someone can provide some guidance here.

    Goals / Notes:

~m20 block ( I know 24v swaps are much easier etc but would like to keep the stock core in the car for sentiment's sake. My build direction has always been OEM+)

~Would like to bump up the displacement slightly (2.7-2.8 range) for lower CR but have seen several build versions where there was contact interference depending on the parts installed

~Aiming for 300-350hp range with the ability to turn up if ever needed. This will be my DD though so I'm not trying to do anything to crazy in terms of power

~Is there a way to maintain the 6500 redline despite an increased displacement?
I'd say build a 2.8L. Order custom forged pistons in the compression ratio of your choice. Something like 8.5:1 to 9:1. We can get them for you! 300whp should be doable with 10-12psi depending on setup etc. I would definitely recommend upgrading the cylinder head for more airflow. Porting/polishing is ideal, turbo grind camshaft, HD rocker arms, performance valve springs, etc. You can easily take the engine to 7k. Oh, and don't forget ARP goodies throughout!

Drop us an email if we can help. M20 engines are kinda our thing. ;)

To the right buyer, probably. The drift guys usually spend about $50 to get their diffs welded so that’s something to consider.

I picked up a running 97 z3 5 speed for a part out but I just got into a car accident that totaled the daily instantly so if anyone is looking the aluminum motor, pm me please. Only keeping the zf. Everything else must go.

Went out to Sunday Steel at Steelhead Coffee in Laguna Hills this weekend. If you haven’t gone you should, nice small gathering of cool people and good coffee.

Wife was out with her cousin and she got rear ended on the freeway. It was father and son bonding at home. The motor is a aluminum 2.8. Gonna get running video and compression numbers prior to pull. But was a 20 mile drive back and had no issues.

Anyone have a hood they're not using? I don't mind if it has any small dents or what condition the paint is in, I just need the inner frame really. As long as that is straight.
