I think so. Also I think 265/5s (dogleg 5sp) are actually stamped 262.

Thanks for that, I'll definitely check it out

Definitely lookin to pour some cash into this swap; I'm thinking rebuild the engine over a course of a year or two slowly acquiring parts here an there. My goal was 250whp, and anything I can get above that was a plus; I'd be ultimately satisfied with 300 crank-HP. It just didn't look like it those numbers were gonna happen in an m54, and the torque curve doesn't look as nice as the s52.

I guess I can sacrifice that extra 40lbs up front for an extra 30HP. Just means my coilover setup is gonna have to be on point

To get an S52 to that level is pretty easy. Keep OBD2, just do a full swap into the E30. It's been done a lot on r3v and opens up a WORLD of good tuning and diagnostic options.

What works for 245-250whp from my experience, and results in the biggest gains:

            M50 manifold
Headers -- US SS or TMS Shorties (CARB legal ftw) for curve shape, Euro SS/Raceland for numbers and shitty curve below 4k.
3" exhaust from header back with a GOOD merge
3.5" intake with 3.5-3" silicone boot
Most important: tune. TRM is ok, Epic Motorsports OBD1 or OBD2 is what I would choose. AA isn't bad either.

What doesn't really do much unless you're really shooting for that last handful of power units:
changing injectors (stock 21.5lb injectors should be fine, 24lb are option)
            LTW fly
            underdrive pulleys
            Electric fan
            BBTB (unless cammed)

If you want more power than that, add Shricks or MM cams and you may as well do valvesprings at the same time. More aggressive cam will require VANOS to be shimmed, which isn't good for low end torque.

Shricks, M50, US SS, 3.5" intake/MAF, 24lb injectors, solid tune, BBTB, UDP...basically all the things above.

yea....looking like I'll be rolling out in the Subaru if I go. M3 hit a small snag and won't get aligned in time.

:( Shit always happens. At least you didn't forget to torque your wheels and leave the socket at home.

This is true. Car will be ready soon, but not in time for Sunday. Maybe. Only if I get an Ivan alignment haha.

Yea, but I would have had to take the day off of work to get the car ready for an alignment. It crossed my mind, but....nah. Going to get it done over the weekend and then get it aligned and cornerweighted(again, ugh) at the same time. Might be able to CW it myself though...hm.
