You should be thanking your lucky stars that a good locking diff is so cheap. The diff I have in the e46 costs $3k new and I paid over $1k used. There is no way to get an LSD for under $1k (IIRC wanganstyle is developing an e46 diff but it seems like a nice piece of kit and likely will be pricey).

I haven't owned a single E30 LSD that locks well so far... I think this 4.10 had like 120k on it, still useless with sticky tires.

^ never seen a 4.10 that wasnt shit. the 2.93s and 3.73s last a lot longer

Why's that? The output speed is the same, so same speed on the clutches right? Or do shorter gears put more torque on the clutches?
