Im kind of excited to drive up to San Jose tomorrow... Im taking 101 instead of 5, any cool detours on the way up? Ive done the Airline Highway a bunch of times, looking for something different. I know 33 is fun, but havent quite mapped it out yet and dont want it to be a major detour.

Taking 1 the whole way is a fun thing to do. I've only ever done it once though and only from Santa Barbara, it took about 8 hours from there.

Driving the 1 from SB to SF was the slowest most frustrating drive ever. I mean prius after prius after minivan after corolla. That being said I did the drive on a weekend, during the day time coming back from Bimmerfest. Maybe at a more off time it would be better.

i've done this trip several times. double yellow passing is the only way to do it. i felt the same way about the road to hana, asian tourist stopping for no reason over and over and the 15mph speed limit almost killed me.
