that should be fine, Im using a hodge-podge of mixed and matched parts to be "OBD1" compliant, but its all OBD1 parts, so... best best is if you can pick up a complete parts car

yeah, that's my plan. i'm moving next month so i'll have a garage again, '93-95 E36s are cheaper now than all of the donor parts used to be, and using that platform gives me an upgrade path to the engine i eventually want to build, after i've already done the happy dance for CARB and only need to take the thing to the corner smog shop going forward.

what i was worried about is the ref bouncing me for having a used cat in the swap. i know the rules are "you have to have all of the emissions equipment from the donor car", and that means an old OEM cat *should* be okay, but i've heard some of them just decide to be dicks about random shit.

I think most people use headers and random crap exhaust because the E36 downpipes hang kinda low, I know mine do. I plan on re-doing my entire exhaust system once Im done with the "Happy dance"

i already have the THR lollipops on my car, so i'm hoping i'm good there, at least while using stock M50TU parts.

did they interfere by an inch or a few mm? I'm hoping to squish the downpipe.

I did some hammering to make mine fit.

I passed BAR with stock cast manifolds, stock midpipe with correct cats, and a Stromung Catback exhaust.

Referee made me change out the obd2 exhaust manifolds back to obd1 manifolds since I was running it through the system as a 95 m3 engine.

                              It worked.
