I feel you on the M2, Eric. I'm thinking a lot about picking up an M2 Comp despite how awful the S55 engine sounds. I'd need to sell off most of the cars to make that happen though.

dude, you cannot legally build an e30 to the power goal i want in california. it's just not possible, and won't be until they someday go smog-exempt. any other state (other than NY), sure. but it doesn't look like i'm moving any time soon.
factory turbo cars- first off, you can throw a 91-octane tune on them right away, and it's a lot easier to sneak a similar-looking turbo past the smog guy than it is to get an S5* or V8 swap through the ref.
Yep. I would go new turbo car. Swaps are fun, but the pain in the ass doesn't end once you are through the ref.Comment

Still, one of you guys should buy my 6MT 135i Alpine White Cabriolet with all options (Nav, Bluetooth, Cold Weather, Comfort Access, HiFi Audio, etc.) with 59,800 Miles on it. $13,000 is what I was offered by a dealer. I'd let it go to an enthusiast for that trade in price.
8,000 Miles on Turbos, 2,000 Miles on Water Pump, 200 Miles on HPFP, 3,000 miles on Serpentine Belt and Power Steering Pump

it's not, at all. the one i was looking at was 17.5k with 78k miles.
i am off the market, though. eric can be happy, i'm keeping the paid-for baur.
quit my job today to go back to school because i figured out that's what i was really unhappy with, and a new car wouldn't fix it.
enrolled in an infosec curriculum. very much looking forward to having a few months off from stress and learning to be a hacker.
and yeah, back to the plan of building a 327i mtech1 baur once i'm working again.past:

I make around 450-480ish & 500-550tq with a conservative tune on a 6MT 07 335i that I can easily get through smog. Haven’t put it on the dyno but I can easily gap new mustangs, SS camaros it’s plenty of power for the street. Throw on a single turbo setup and it’s game over the sheer enjoyment is worth the investment.Comment

I can talk to my friend for you, he's not in the south bay though, he's in daly city. He is however, one of the best welders I've met in my life and he could easily weld up some coilovers for you.Comment
